Sandarac resin or sandarach is the plant resin of a tree of the conifer family, Tetraclinis articulata, also known as Aleppo cypress, it is common in North Africa and some regions of Europe.

The Sandarac tree is native to Morocco, although in southern Australia there are some similar species of the conifer family, which produce a similar resin.

Sandarac exudes naturally from the stem of the tree, but can also be extracted through cuts made in the bark, solidifying in contact with air.

Its aroma is soft, slightly fruity, translucent in color and fragile in consistency. Its properties promote relaxation, relieve tension, nervousness, stress and insomnia.

Instructions for use: Light a charcoal and pour a little resin on the coals. The resin will melt and release its fragrance into the air for several minutes.
